Painting on canvas with acrylic and oil colors proved to be a worthwhile deja vu for Nina. She had originally began her artistic training in Gdansk, Poland. At an early age, Nina spent much of her time taking lessons in painting from Ignacy Klukowski, a local eminent painter and follower of the Parisian Impressionism School. I. Klukowski received his formal art training in Paris, France. In further pursuit of her art training, Nina continued with Professor Jacek Zulawski in an equally select circle known as the "Sopot School." At the present time Nina's painting pursuits are mainly focused toward portraits and murals.

In her original home gallery in Rozyny, Nina worked together for ten years with the best artists and professors of the Gdansk Art School. Nina absorbed the culture of Gdansk which still remains as one of her main inspirations, as well as, nature and the joy of life. She now utilizes the mediums of tempera and acrylic colors to create murals or frescoes with the same powerful emotion and warmth of her tapestries.

A portrait may be ordered after consultation. Submission of a photograph and a deposit for initial materials may be required. All work is hand-painted oil on canvas. There are no photograph to canvas electronic imagery devices used (i.e. photo imagery or giclee' reproduction). 30 to 60 days may be needed for completion. Some sizes or detailed works may require additional time for completion. SIZE & COST MAY BE NEGOTIATED.

PORTRAITS: Nina's portraits are presented in the medium of oil on canvas. She normally meets most of her portrait subjects in person. However, Nina recently completed an oil on canvas using only photographs as a reference.

Nina's painting of two peacocks, each on opposite sides of a home/office suite doorway portal, demonstrates her ability in this area. In this particular example, Nina shows an ability to incorporate the technique of a semi-transparent veil in which one color can be viewed through an overlaying color. This can be seen on the right side of the front mural which shows red flower petals through the petals of a white flower.
